Rocktape Seminar 5/2-5/3/15 Certification

- Rocktape Certification -

I took a weekend certification seminar Saturday 5/2 and Sunday 5/3/15 with my friend Kirstin to become FMT I/II Certified using Rocktape.

The seminar ran from 8am-6pm both days, Even though it was long, and both Kirstin and I were feeling crappy (possibly sick), we got through it!

We got to tape different parts of the body - "Fascial taping"
This can help with scars, posture, body mechanics, etc...

Technically (Anatomically) a person, when standing, their hands should be palm forward and facing in front of the person. As you can see above [photo on left], that mine are COMPLETELY opposite of what it should be. So what do we do? TAPE IT!

Above, you can see the difference that the tape made to my positioning. The tape can help retrain your mind and body that the body part you are taping should be doing a certain action and makes you, as a person, more consciously aware of your body.

[Photo Above] Kirstin all taped up along the "posterior chain" of the body with two strips of tape

[Above Photo] I ended the weekend with a T-Shirt, a large roll of 2" orange rocktape, a small roll of 2" purple tape, and 4" black "big daddy" tape

[Above Photo] Here is the Rocktape group from this weekend of fun times. And not so fun times when you have to remove the tape HOURS later when the adhesive isn't wanting to come off.
Lets just say... there was a ton of noise making trying to remove it all. Body hair does NOT like being ripped off :)

Overall, I learned a LOT and was able to take the knowledge that I learned and apply it to my classes the following week, and am continuing to practice taping on my mom and my sister.

[Above Photo] As a result... Scrap Rocktape Stache's per my mom's request to use it lol :)

Let's see what cool things come my way in the future!
Can't wait to keep learning and keep improving myself for my future patients and their healing process. <3
